Understanding the Components
The PM-KUSUM scheme is structured around three key components, each addressing a different facet of solar adoption in farming
Component-A
Grid-Connected Solar Power Plants: Installation of decentralized ground-mounted power projects (up to 2 MW) on barren/fallow land, allowing farmers to sell power to the utility.
Component-b
Standalone Solar Agriculture Pumps:
Installation of new, off-grid solar pumps to replace existing diesel pumps or for new irrigation points.
Component-c
Solarization of Existing Grid-Connected Agriculture Pumps: Converting existing grid-connected pumps into solar-powered ones, allowing farmers to use solar power and sell surplus energy back to the grid.
